Welcome...
Welcome to my blog! Before divulging to you the basic treatise of this blog, I feel that I should preface it first with a kind of autobiography about how I discovered the world of cosmetics.
The presence of a visiting makeup artist succeeded to inhibit a love of cosmetics in the eighth-grader me in my English teacher John English's (yes, that is his name) class at R.J. Murray Middle School in the last week of school before summer break. My teacher felt that by introducing us to a multiplicity of careers, it might restore our ardor for learning (spoiler alert: it did).
As she promenaded around English's classroom that vernal June afternoon, this visitor joined about 20 unsettled students in watching a video that showed an ordinary girl being transformed, first with makeup and then with a sumptuously elegant kimono, into the glossy model on a billboard advertisement. She then demonstrated a variation of the model's visage on myself, transforming me as well.
And so it began.
I spent that summer collecting every blush, bronzer, concealer, and eyeliner known to man (under three dollars). All of this has culminated into the making of this blog - Truth, Beauty, and Contact Lenses- three things that are all within the eye of the beholder. There is no precise or definite explanation of what 'beauty' is - that is up to you.
Just like that makeup artist in my English class did for me in eighth grade, I hope to encourage you all to transform yourselves into the person you desire to be - what you conceive to be 'beautiful' for you.
Thank you, and I hope you enjoy this journey into the beauty blogging cosmos.
